Penny's Dog Walking uses a team approach to ensure reliable coverage for your dog. We aim for consistency - regular times and regular walkers - but in case of sickness, vacation, or emergencies,
your dog will never be left behind.
Each walker was specifically recruited by Penny for their reliability, trustworthiness and all around wonderfulness! These are people Penny would trust with keys to her house and care of her own dogs!
All walkers are insured and bonded. We are local residents, involved in the school system and community. We are caring and reliable neighbors, who love dogs!
Penny
Penny started walking dogs by chance in 2009, when two friends got puppies and needed someone to take them out a couple days a week. From there, word spread and Penny added more and more dogs.
When Penny started regularly walking 40+ miles a week, she worried that her legs would fall off... so, decided to expand the business and share the load with some co-walkers. The idea was for Penny to work less... so far that has not been the case - the business keeps growing and growing!
Penny has experience with puppies, and has used clicker training with dogs she walks, as well as to teach her own dogs some very useful things - like jumping through a hoola-hoop.
Penny grew up in Oregon with dogs, cats, birds, fish, turtles, lizards, rabbits, etc. She currently lives in Melrose with her husband and two sons - and with Cricket, a wirehair fox terrier, and Stubbs, a scottie.
Paula
Paula and her husband live in Melrose, and only have two sons - but she seems like everybody's mother. Paula is an amazing and giving person - she will do anything to help anybody! Since her 15 year old chow chow, Sasha, passed away Paula has been without a dog - but has been dogsitting and walking for many friends' dogs - and has plenty of love for yours too!
LuAnn
LuAnn is from Melrose, and returned here after living for 11 years in Florida. She is married, with two grown children. She loves to spend time with her family and to bake - desserts are her specialty! LuAnn is such a sweet and conscientious walker, your dog will be lucky to spend time with her!
Roberta
Roberta is a very dedicated wife and mother of three girls who has been lucky enough to be a stay home mom for 20 years. She loves cooking and eating well, and is always trying new recipes – but gardening is really her passion! Now that her girls are older, she is loving getting out and exercising with all her new dog friends. She enjoys the variety, the hours, and the community that this job brings! Go, Roberta!
Linda
Linda and her husband live in Melrose. She currently has a daughter and two sons in college, and a lab named Miley and a boxer named Bentley still at home. She grew up with dogs, has been walking her own dogs for 20 years, and looks forward to many more!
Kristin
Someone said it first, but Kristin agrees that if you’re not covered in dog hair, your life is empty. Recently retired after what she calls 35 tedious years working in Boston hospitals, Kristin signed on with Penny’s Dog Walking to find fulfillment. She is delighted to find dog walking opportunities in Melrose, her hometown for the last 25 years, and will continue to walk golden retrievers once a week at Yankee
Golden Retriever Rescue in Hudson, Mass where she volunteers.
Heather
Heather is an exotic international import to Melrose! She grew up in Africa and Canada! She's lived in Melrose since 2010, with her German/Canadian husband and two daughters - and their cat. Heather used to work as a research lab technician before working as a stay home mom - and now works as a dog walker as well. Heather enjoys hiking and gardening, and loves to be outdoors. She's a great addition to our team!
